DMC Hotel Training Centre is a duly registered training institute since 1992 with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education which offers Travel, Tourism and Hospitality training programmes to young school leavers and the industry at large. DMC Hotel Training Centre is an Approved Centre with the City and Guilds of London Institute and an Examination Centre. Our mission is to actively participate in hospitality skills development and enhancement of professional high quality graduates. In pursuit of excellence the training centre has over the years maintained an above 95% pass rate over the years with 85% achieving credits and distinctions. 

The training centre offers the following courses

  •  Bar Tenders Course
  •  Barista Skills Course
  •  Reception Operation and Services
  •  Accommodation Operation and Services
  •  International Tourism
  •  Principles of Management
  •  Single subjects on Demand - Customer Care & Selling Skills. 

DMC Hotel Training Centre is situated in Newlands, Harare and has equipment which are similar to that found in hotels and restaurants.The Centre has the following facilities:

  • Training Kitchen for cookery practicals
  • Restaurant and Bar that sits thirty diners
  • Lounge area
  • Four large training rooms
  • Information centre with a large book stock of hospitality and tourism topics.
  • Computer Laboratory currently being re-equipped with new networked computers 

DMC Hotel Training Centre is also an affiliate member and strategic training partner of the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe. It has received a host of accolades with the best being the Recognition of Excellence awarded by City and Guilds for producing and maintaining high quality graduates.
 

The Centre has been in the forefront of hotel craft training in the SADC region. There has been a healthy demand for its graduates who exceed well above one thousand over the years in the local industry, neighboring countries and internationally.

The Centre is promoting studies of particular relevance to Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Industry in providing a superior service to customers and improving individual establishments’ performance by training and educating hospitality staff and young school leavers who have chosen to invest their future in the tourism and hospitality industry.
